It covers an area of 9,250 square miles and ranks 45th by total area. It has a population of 623,908(as of 2006). Vermont is known for its scenery and dairy products. It is the leading producer of maple syrup. Tourism is a large industry. In the winter, skiers come from all around the world to their large ski resorts. In the summer, many tourists come to their resort towns and summer camps.
