Vermont is located in the New England region in the northeastern part of the nation. Itís bordered by Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, and the Canadian province Quebec. It covers an area of 9,250 square miles and ranks 45th by total area. It has a population of 623,908(as of 2006). Vermont is known for its scenery and dairy products. It is the leading producer of maple syrup. Tourism is a large industry. In the winter, skiers come from all around the world to their large ski resorts. In the summer, many tourists come to their resort towns and summer camps.
