Puerto Rico is located in the Caribbean Sea, 1,000 miles east-southeast of Florida. It is a possession of the United Staes so American travelers do not need passports to visit here. The population is hispanic but both English and Spanish are spoken here. The economy is made up of agriculture, industry and tourism. Puerto Rico produces pineapples, bannanas, coffee, plantains, chickens, apparel and electronics. There is a potential for offshore drilling for oil. San Juan is one of the biggest ports of call for cruise ships. This island has a beautiful forest, mountains, beaches, and caves to explore. The weather is warm year round but they do have a hurricane season.
