Mississippi is located in the Southern United States bordering Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennesse and Alabama. It also sits on the Gulf of Mexico. The population consists mainly of whites, blacks and american indians. The economy consists of agriculture: catfish and chicken farms, cotton, soybeans and rice; minerals such as petroleum and natural gas. Industry has grown a great deal here. Production in chemicals, wood, plastics and food have overtaken agriculture. There is also fishing and gambling on the coast as part of the states income. Visitors to Mississippi can enjoy the many historical civil war battlefields and Antebellum mansions. One thing to remember about the state is hurricane season, such as Hurricane Katrina that killed thousands.
