Idaho is a state located in the Pacific Northwest, and is bordered with Washington, Oregon, Montana, Utah, Nevada, and Wyoming. Idaho borders the Canadian province British Columbia to the north. Idaho covers an area of 83,642 square miles, and has a population of 1,499,402 as of 2007. Idaho produces nearly a third of all the potatoes grown in the United States. Other important industries aside from food processing are Lumber, wood production, chemical production, paper products, silver and other mining, as well as tourism. The largest factory for barreel cheese, the raw product for processed cheese is in Gooding, Idaho.
