Georgia is the 24th largest and 9th most populated state in the U.S. with over nine million residents. It is bordered by Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, and South and North Carolina, and covers 59,000 square miles. The geography ranges from the swamp of the Okefenokee, the beaches and barrier islands of the coast, and the mountains in the north. Industries include agriculture and forestry in the rural areas. The major cities, such as the capital, Atlanta, are home to many major corporations, including Coca-Cola, Chik-Fil-A, Georgia Pacific, and Home Depot. It is also home to many major defense bases, such as Fort Benning, Fort Gillem, Fort Stewart, and Fort McPherson.
